Ever since early windows 98 to early windows 7 I always had a sound card and never used built in. And compared to built in even the latest in the windows 7 era was nothing compared to even at that time ageing audigy 2 ZS especially positional audio helps alot in games.
My question is this. Is the Audigy 2 ZS still worth while to use in this day and age in windows 10 or stick with my built in realtek HD? I would say yes it is since the Realtek HD has probably been around just as long with no major changes to it. Since you have the audio card already it would be worth using it since built in audio isn't the best and made just to be a cheap way to add audio to a motherboard.
The sound card on the other hand is built to make audio sound good and give a reason why people would spend extra for better audio. Omnipotent Enthusiast. I'm not sure about quality compare to onboard solutions. Yep Only reason I thought about it. Funny thing when I first got this motherboard. I diden't even realize it still had PCI slots.
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS in Windows 10 worth it?
Well looks like my Mini retro gaming rig gets to live another day. Not enough room in my case with the Rad and fans in the way of the PCI slots.

Problems could merely reside in third-party software, requiring a patch. Issues could also stem from within Windows 10 itself or the underlying hardware. Possible fixes include installing new drivers, tweaking settings, or even revert to a previous restore point.
This guide begins with the easy steps and moves deeper into Windows 10 if you continue to face audio issues. If your keyboard has volume controls, press a key or turn a slider to see if the on-screen volume bar raises and lowers. Simply click the speaker button to expand the volume panel.

For instance, your speakers may have volume buttons, or they may be accidentally unplugged from the PC or power outlet. Likewise, your headset or microphone may include in-line volume dials that are turned down, or they may just be unplugged from the PC. There may be something wrong with the app or program itself that needs patching or audio is turned down or muted from within.
Generally, you should only have one installed audio device. However, the list stacks up once you begin piling on external devices like the HTC Vive, a wireless Xbox controller, a headset, and so on. You can verify the default audio device in one of two ways: from the taskbar or through the Control Panel.
The Sound pop-up window appears on the screen. Make sure your audio device is set as default.
This opens a troubleshooter in the Control Panel. However, they could be the underlying issue. Follow the Control Panel route instructions to set your default audio device.Discus and support Soundblaster driver issues, No sound after Windows 10 feature update.

First turn off windows fast boot which you can read how to do HERE. Now go into your Bios and deactivate onboard sound so that the only option for you will be the sound card. Find out how to do this by reading your Mother Board Manual or Google your boards name for videos or guides on how to do it.
Onboard audio can cause conflicts with sound cards. In my case it would cause windows start up sounds to cut out or be choppy. I then uninstalled all drivers and removed all creative folders and registry keys I could find. You can do this before the bios changes, it doesn't really matter but this step MUST be done before trying to install sound blaster Z drivers. I also use CCleaner but you don't need to. The rollback option will only be there if you let windows install the drivers as instructed earlier.
